G & J took the bow lines. The first two days on the river all the locks were automatic. We pull up, the lockkeepers would push their " buttons" and the locks would close, fill, and then open. It generally took about 20 minutes each. And the first two locks were only about 25 minutes apart along the river. Here's a funny. We were going up river, but we were in fact heading south the whole trip. The river systems here are all flowing off the mountains that are so far away you can't see them, but thats where the flow comes from. Strange. The first afternoon it started to cloud up, but we didn't care.
we had talked aobut taking this boat trip for 5 years together and we were so happy to be here finally.
