And then we woke up to the thickest fog we had seen on this trip. It was really cool (to see). It cleared off by around 9 or so each morning. And then the skies were clear and blue. One thing that was different though, at the back half of this trip, the locks were manually operated, and someone on our boat had to jump off and help the lockkeeper to crank the gates open and closed. They didn't HAVE to but if they did not, then it took twice as long. Jody stepped up and became the boat cranker. She did a great job, and got to talk to the locals while doing it. This lock was my favorite. It was completely covered with flowers.
