Auxerre and locks

Jody took bow lines while G too pics.  It was getting colder and starting to rain on and off.  But we were still doing good.  Starting to seem like a lot of locks though.  The amount of time that is estimated in the cruising guide was not really turning out to be very accurate.  We traveled all day and did not get as far as we thought we would.  By the time we went through Auxerre by boat, we had been though there by taxi the day before.  We saw quite a bit of it and although intersting decided to not stop to explore on bikes like we previously planned because it was getting late in the day.  And sprinkling.  We kept moving.

I honestly did not think we were going to fit into this lock.  It looked so narrow.  It WAS narrow!
Bow thrusters please.. a little to the left..Thank You

Yvves told us before we left, that the farther down the river we got, it would get prettier.  He was right.
The lockkeepers houses were more and more spectacular.  Each year they give an award for the most atttractive lockkeepers house along the river.  The flowers were everywhere.

Every time we met another lockkeeper and saw their little houses on the river Lorenzo just kept saying, "I want that guys job."  HA
Get paid year round for working 6 months, reading
books in between opening locks for cruisers.
